Our History
1862
Aleksander II, Emperor of Russia, approved the building of a hospital in the Shchipok Street
1936
The hospital was joined with the All-Union Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine n.a. A.M. Gorky
1941
An evacuation hospital offering area medical support to Soviet Union Military units was deployed during the Great Patriotic War
1944
The Institute of Experimental and Clinical Surgery of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences was established
1948
The Institute was named after A.V. Vishnevsky, a frontier surgeon and researcher.
2018
A.V. Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery became National Medical Research Center of Surgery
